Preventing Burnout for People Helpers gives you the tools to build emotional capacity, care for your body and mind, and develop sustainable rhythms — so you can keep showing up for others without running dry.
Gain a grounded understanding of burnout, secondary traumatic stress, and compassion fatigue — so you can recognize what’s happening in yourself and begin to respond wisely before the damage is done.
Learn how to expand your ability to hold space for others without becoming overwhelmed. Develop the inner resources needed to remain present, regulated, and effective over the long term.
Gain awareness of the impact of stress on your nervous system and practice practical emotional and body regulation skills — tools you can use in the moment and build into your daily life.
Engage with foundational practices — appreciation, sensory engagement, rest, presence, lament, connecting with God, and purposeful living — not just as concepts, but as lived experiences with Jesus.
Learn how to partner with your body’s natural stress management system to complete the stress cycle and return to a grounded, sustainable state — rather than staying stuck in chronic activation.
Leave with more than good intentions. Gain awareness of your current rhythms and create a customized sustainability plan designed for your life, your work, and your calling.
Most conversations about burnout focus on identifying the problem. This course focuses on building the solution — from the inside out.
Rather than offering generic self-care advice, Preventing Burnout for People Helpers guides you through foundational practices grounded in neuroscience, relational health, and spiritual formation. You won’t just learn about these skills — you’ll practice them together, experience their effects firsthand, and leave equipped to integrate them into the rhythms of your life and work.
Each week combines teaching, guided practice, and community — delivered live so you can engage, ask questions, and grow alongside others who understand the weight of people-helping work.
Eight sessions of accessible, research-informed instruction exploring the neuroscience of stress and burnout, and the practices that build lasting resilience for those in helping roles.
Each week you’ll have the opportunity to reflect and practice alongside fellow participants in online breakout rooms — learning deepens in community with others who share your calling.
More than information, this course gives you hands-on practices and a personal wellness framework you can begin using immediately — and return to for years to come.
